Why land stewardship?
Land stewardship has direct positive impacts for ecosystem health, wildfire habitat, and natural resources. As stewards of this planet, we hold the power to either care for the vast diversity of life on Earth—or stand by as it quietly disappears. The choices we make now will determine whether future generations inherit a thriving, biodiverse world or a silent landscape void of its diverse tapestry of life.
We are all stewards.
Conservation within rural and Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) communities will play a key role in conservation. These communities serve as social-ecological hotspots, grappling with challenges like wildfire-induced home destruction, habitat fragmentation, and biodiversity loss. The ripple effects from each home can span hundreds of yards to miles, magnifying the urgency of conservation measures.
